The mission of The Leadership Crucible™ is to develop the leadership skills of young women interested in public service and politics. It is an intensive development program currently housed at The School of Public Service at the University of Juba. The program includes regular and personalized contact with our participants. We meet formally with them twice a month for rigorous workshops, coupled with as-needed mentoring throughout the month. In addition, each participant submits work regularly which is used to assess progress. Finally, each participant is paired with a South Sudanese mentor, which is extremely important for young women aspiring to be leaders.
The goals of the program are:
- To increase the desire of participants to lead
- To help participants see themselves as leaders
- To help participants develop the skills they need to be effective leaders
- To promote in participants the qualities of effective leaders
- To help participants develop professional networks
